Oh, Johnny boy… Where have you been
Oh, Johnny boy… Have you committed a sin
Oh, Johnny boy… You must tell me now
Oh, Johnny boy… My patience is thin
Oh, Johnny boy… You must go
Oh, Johnny boy… How I love you so
Oh, Johnny boy… Where have you been
Oh, Johnny boy… Have you committed a sin
Oh, Johnny boy… You must tell me now
Oh, Johnny boy… My patience is thin
Oh, Johnny boy… You must go
Oh, Johnny boy… How I love you so
As I started thinking, of all the different candy that is made, it made me think of Veruca in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
So, this one is for you Veruca…
I want it now, I want it now!
It’s mine, It’s mine!
I want candy, all the time.
Peanut brittle, give me more.
Candy corn, here I go.
Bubble gum, yum yum.
Toffee and lollie’s, make me jolly.
Candy is yummy, sweet for my tummy.
I want Butterscotch and peppermint sticks.
Malted balls, that will do the trick.
More salt water taffy and cotton candy!
Jelly beans any kind, I don’t mind.
Carmel and gobstoppers, now I’m in trouble.
Feeling sick, darn those goobers and pixy sticks.
Oh my, what’s next?
No black licorice for me, but I’ll try a chocolate kiss.
I love Bon bons and white chocolate.
Peanut butter cups, are the best.
I forgot the rock candy, sitting in the dish.
Jaw breakers, might do me in.
I’m getting sick as sin.
Chocolate nuts and chocolate bars, I think I have taken this too far.
What’s that noise? Oh, its mom!
I have a candy wrapper stuck to my arm!
I jump in bed, sick as can be.
Mom comes in and looks at me.
What’s that smudge on your check?
Oh, I just ate one of my sweet treats. 😉
Please don’t go.
I am so sorry.
You know, I love you.
Give me another chance.
I will change, you will see.
Maybe, you should have been nicer to me.
Don’t leave…. But, I love you.
How can you leave me?
It was only once, it won’t happen again.
Your leaving, because of that?
It doesn’t mean anything.
I was just… I don’t know.
I really do love you honey.
You are my world.
How can u do this to me?
******
To you…?
Well, let me see.
You say you love me, but you don’t.
Your cheatin’ heart, is what drove us apart.
I can’t trust you, I never will.
Nicer to you?
You treated me like an old shoe.
You won’t change, it never happens.
I need to be free, from your obsession.
You never treated me, with an ounce of dignity.
I hope you find, what you’re looking for.
It’s not going to be me anymore.
I am stronger, then you know.
I am finally, walking out the door.
Hugs for me… Hugs for you…
Hugs for my sweet Winnie-the-Pooh.
Scampering over the hills, with Winnie, Roo and Christopher Robin too.
Oh! What fun we will have on this bright sunny day.
Come on Rabbit, let’s play!
Oh! Where can Piglet be? Is that Eeyore by the tree?
I am hiding behind the bush, hoping to be free, from a tag, so no one can see me.
What’s that noise I hear? Its Owl in the tree!
Oh dear, I whisper, please don’t tell on me.
I run from my spot and go up the hill.
Hair in my eyes, I run into Roo.
Tigger comes bouncing by full of glee.
We must go find Kanga, to have a cup of tea.
Pooh says, “What about honey, instead of tea?”
Here comes Eeyore and Piglet, now I am happy as can be.
This day has been wonderful, with having all my friends to see.
I lay in bed tired as can be
I look to the window and what do I see
Four and twenty blackbirds looking at me
I must be dreaming, this I possibly can’t see
I open my eyes wide and sure enough they’re looking at me
I get nervous thinking of that bird movie on tv
I don’t mind birds, but just a few
This is obvious too many, what to do
I close my eyes again, to get a wink or two
As I turn over and open one eye
I realize it’s 3am and just a dark sky
No more ice cream before bed
I can’t handle these visions in my head
I got me a sticker
I got me a sticker
Stick it on my wall, stick it on my doll
I got me a sticker
I got me a sticker
Stick it on my door, stick it on my drawer
I got me a sticker
I got me a sticker
Stick it on my book, come and take a look
I got me a sticker
I got me a sticker
Stick it on my moms car, I better run far…

I and my hoverboard up in the air
My hover board comes tomorrow!
I can’t wait…
As soon as the package comes,
I will rip it open with a scream.
For I am the only one, that will have one on my block.
The kids will be jealous, but I won’t care.
I and my hoverboard up in the air.
I’ll go to the store, maybe the mall.
Maybe to the drive in…
To score a hot dog.
I will keep my hoverboard under my bed.
Safe and secure, out of sight and out of reach.
Oh, the places we will go…
To the zoo, then the park.
Or maybe just riding it down my street, for everyone to see.

My lost sock monkey
What’s in my drawer?
Let’s me see…
A copper penny and three candies.
My favorite purple scarf and my lost sock monkey.
Oh, where have you been?
I love you so…
Looked thick and thin and there you were.
Sorry, you were put in the drawer.
At least you were safe, from any intruder.
Now that I found you…
Up you go… Safe and secure.
My lost sock monkey.
His name is Herman.
Didn’t you know?
Soft and cuddly.
A site to see…
I love my sock monkey.
And I think, he loves me.
Writing 201: Poetry. Day Seven: Fingers, Prose Poem, Assonance
You wave goodbye
I glance at my hands
I see the roughness
The white spots and veins
Age begins to take its toll
I used to write well…
Now it hurts to hold a pen
Sometimes the pain is excruciating
I massage them with care
Appreciating each finger
When I’ve seen cracks I took care of you
Every two weeks, I made sure to get you a makeover
My friend we’ve been through a lot
At times we’ve carried over 6 bags
When we should have only carried two
I never really thought about you and all the work you do
Now as I look you over, brown spots and all,
I will make sure to give you my all
Sweet Water
I open the red box with glee.
I can’t wait, to hang it by my window, in my big oak tree.
As I wait and wait…
A hummingbird notices the new treat.
The water rocks back and forth.
The sun glistens through the bottle.
The hummingbird stops in mid-air.
to take a look around…
Then continues drinking each drop with vigor.
It can’t get enough of the sweet water.
Its wings flap with such vibrant motion,
stopping to look at me in the window.
I wonder, what is it thinking about…
Just as the hummingbird, might wonder, what am I thinking about…
