I am a Artist and Philosopher. I am a funny person, who loves to make people laugh. I am just one cool cat... I love comedians! I can do a variety of cartoon & film voices, if my voice is up to it. So, come on in, rest a spell and get comfy...

MOROI

I looked out the window, wondering when the sun would set. I hoped, dusk would be approaching soon. I could not stop thinking about the night before. I went for a walk in the garden late last night. As I looked over the hedges, I could see something or someone. I was not sure, what it was… As I peered closer to get a better look, the figure disappeared. Was I dreaming? No, I am sure I saw something.

Tonight I will go outside just before dusk, in hopes to get a better look, in case the something or someone comes back.  I have always been a curious person. Wanting to know everything. Now in my early twenties, I am just as curious. It’s almost dusk, I quickly get dressed. I must bring a warm jacket, hat and scarf.  Oh… And gloves.  I hate the cold.  So, if I do happen to gaze upon this creature again, then I want to be ready. Ready for anything.

As I leave  my flat and lock up, I think, maybe I should bring a flashlight. So, I go back in and grab a light. It’s so very quiet outside tonight. The moon is full, the birds are still and the trees have stopped dancing.  I feel a little nervous, as I walk to the end of the garden and look over the hedge, I see… I see…  nothing. I turn on my flashlight to get a better look. I know I saw something last night.

It’s very dark outside.  I am wondering if I should wait until daybreak, then I can go out by the trees and get a better look.  As I am walking back to the flat, I hear a noise, so I hurry to get inside.  Just as I step inside, something grabs my shoulder. I scream and quickly turn around. There is my best friend Saul laughing at me.

“I scared you”, he said.

I pushed him back, and said, “what the hell, you ass, I almost had a heart attack.”

” Why are you so skittish,  Saul asked?”

“I saw something last night out by the trees, behind the garden,” I replied.

“Well there is a lot of trees back there, could have been an animal of some sorts, ” Saul said.

” I don’t know, I said, it looked pretty big.  I am not sure, but I think it was a person.”

” A person, well that’s no good, you don’t want some weirdo running around in the woods, so close to your place.” Saul replied.

“Yeah, I know… But you know me, I had to go out and look.”

Saul answered,  “ya, I know you, you are always getting into something.”

“Ya, whatever,” I said, as I cracked a smile.

The next morning, I woke up early. I planned to do a little investigating, hoping to see something. I went outside and locked my door.  When I walked around the garden, towards the trees, I saw a shiny image. As I got closer, the suns rays were shinning upon a silver area by the tree. “What the heck is this,” I thought.  I reached out to touch the tree.  All of a sudden the silver area disappeared.  I jumped back and yelled, “ouch!” The area on the tree was hot, now I have burned my fingers.

As I turn around, to head back home, I noticed a black shadow that is running through the trees. I yell, “hello… hello,” but it disappears.  Now, I am nervous. What could it be?  I quickly hurry back to get  inside.  I turn around one last time. I see a man standing by the tree. He is looking at me. He is wearing a long coat and dressed all in black. He has black hair, dark as coal. I run back inside and lock my door.

Sleep… Zzzzzz.

Woman-Cant-Sleep

That wonderful word: Sleep.  Getting some Z’s, as some call it. You know, the moment you start yawning and your eyelids start drooping. You try to get in a comfortable position, but can’t seem to find it. So, you turn over and over and over and over.  Well, that’s not going to work. So, you get up to get a drink of water and check the thermostat, wondering if it’s too hot or cold in the house.

You get back to bed and adjust your pillow and blanket, hoping that will help, in getting you to sleep. So, you finally get comfortable. “Hip, Hip, Hoorah!” Finally! After a few minutes, you start to feel like you have to go to the bathroom. You think, no way am I getting up, I will just sleep it off or get up later. About half hour later, your still awake. What a surprise. Here you go again, getting up out of bed.

You hurry back to bed, thinking I can do this… You pull your covers up, get your pillow nice and comfy and close your eyes. Piece of cake. All of a sudden you hear a sound. What the heck! Someone has turned the tv on. The volume is loud enough to shake the walls. You yell, can you please turn down the tv! As you try to go back to sleep, you can still hear the tv. You try your best to drown out all noises.

Two hours later, you’re looking at the clock… Your still awake!  You toss and turn, then you turn over your pillow. You close your eyes, while thinking of what mom use to say, about counting sheep.  Hey, what have you got to lose…

Here goes… 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9…… Zzzzzzzzzz

Leave the pen. Take the cannoli.

I was born in San Francisco, California. These days when I travel to the city, I take the Amtrak train. Below are beautiful sketches, from a fellow blogger. I thought I would share this with you…

amtrak in the morning
Late last month, on the weekend before Christmas, I took a day in San Francisco, just to get out of Davis for a little while and sketch things on ground that slopes a bit. I didn’t have much of a plan beyond “go to the Ferry Building, have a cannoli, draw loads”. So I did. Here’s my sketch from the early morning Amtrak train, above. It’s not cheap, traveling the Amtrak, but it’s a lovely journey and you get free wifi.

So I got to the San Francisco Ferry Building, where they have the Saturday Farmer’s Market. I like getting here on a Saturday, and finding the little stall inside that sells Italian cannoli filled with chocolate, and sugary messy lemon-filled ‘bombolini’, little doughnuts. After cleaning my face I went outside to draw a panorama, which took about an hour and a quarter. Those sugary treats made me work…

Dream reader…

images4RI11R9CWho is my dream reader?  It could be you… Or me… My dream reader is someone who stumbles upon my blog and thinks, I want to follow this blog.  The person thinks my blog is funny, interesting, something that they can relate to…  Or something that is new to them, that they want to find out more about.  That they want to learn more about me. My dream reader is a publishing company, that’s says “Wow… What a great writer, let’s offer her a book deal.”

My dream reader is all of the people above.  I would love my dream reader, to be someone who is far away around the world, in another country, who thinks this is a cool blog. It would give me the opportunity, to see where they live and hopefully, learn something from them. I have a friend who is a professional writer.  I would love to show him my blog, but I don’t think I am ready as of yet. A dream would be for him to say, “You’re an awesome writer, why don’t you write a screen play?” I can only wish… Maybe someday soon I will tell him, that I have a blog. Maybe.

A dream reader is anyone that you would like to read your blog.  It could be your parents, spouse, friends, teacher or your favorite author, singer, movie star… Or it could just be you.  Knowing that I have taken the time to focus only on my blog and to try and be inspiring, creative, informative is an accomplishment in itself.  I am no longer procrastinating.  I am getting work done, that I truly enjoy.  So I am hoping you… Yes you!  Will be my dream reader.

As well as myself… If I get up to posting, a new post 🙂

Blogging Neighbor…

So, I am on to assignment 3 today, for blogging101 course. Trying to play catch up… The assignment For yesterday, was meet your neighbors. I had to follow 5 new blogs and 5 new topics, I think that’s right. Wow… Not as easy as I thought. Everytime, I would start to read a blog that I liked, I noticed at the end of the post it was category that I was already following.

I then went out to the freshly pressed blogs, then to readers favorite blogs, then topics, tags, etc… I finally settled on topics. My new blogs that I decided to follow are humor, family, art, culture and travel. I read some great blogs today, that I wouldn’t have read, if I had not done my assignment. Some of them, might not have been my favorite categories, but I quite enjoyed reading them, after scrolling through the topics list.

Being able to see blogs from all over the world is quite exciting. I even discovered one blog, where I and the blogger had the same phobias. I thought… Wow… There is someone out there like me and the thing we have in common is more than just typing away on our blog. Well, that’s what I learned today. Take a chance and try to follow someone, you might never of thought of following. You might be pleasantly surprised, to learn a thing or two.

What will be… C’est la vie…

catsThe name of my blog is “whatever it is, it’s not so bad.”  Today I have changed my title, for my second blogging101 assignment.  I guess, they want to know if I know how to change my title.  Yes, I do.  The reason I picked my original title is because I try to see the positive, that life has to offer.  Life has many challenges, good and bad.  When I open my blog each day, I can glance at the title, to see a little reminder, that life is okay.

That what will be, will be. As long as I try to give my best effort, life can’t be that bad.  We tend to complain about our life, the obstacles that we face, the ups and downs.  Sometimes, it seems there is too many downs and not enough ups.  One way I remind myself to be positive, is that I have another day on this earth.  I wake up and say, “thank you, for another day.”  To myself, of course…lol.  I get another chance to see the trees, the sky and the birds.  Another day to see my family and friends.

When I was younger, I would say, “whatever,” when I didn’t like something or things weren’t going my way.  Whatever this, whatever that…  I wouldn’t really think things through, just a quick whatever would do.  I even had a friend who I hadn’t spoken to for a number of years, ask me if I still said, whatever.  I never thought, I said it that much.  Now, my feelings have changed, about using that word. Actually, I rarely say the word anymore. My new saying is “C’est la vie.”

It is a French saying, which means “that’s life or that’s the way it goes.”  So this is reason, I choose my title, “whatever it is, it’s not so bad.”

Who am I… Why am I here…

I just joined a new class called, Blogging 101 on WordPress. My first assignment is a quick introduction…  Here it goes:  I studied fashion merchandising, line and design when I was younger.  Then I moved to Hollywood, in hopes of working on films and television.  In the beginning I worked at the Beverly Center and bank, in Beverly Hills, hoping to meet people in the film industry.  I took me awhile, before I worked on my first movie.

I was hired as a costume designer, for a film company.  I would go to Warner Bros., studios to pick up wardrobe, as well as create my own.  It was so exciting to see clothes that I had picked out for the actors, to show up in the film.  After that I got into film editing, which was quite a long project.  Even though the hours where long, I still enjoyed bringing the film together and seeing the final project.

Photography is one of my true passions.  I was the chief photographer on my college newspaper.  Seeing ones pictures on print, is very rewarding.  Especially since all pictures, do not end up in print. The reason I started blogging, was to hopefully bring out my creative side in one way or another.  When I am being creative, it is such an incredible high.  The satisfaction of writing a piece of work and having someone tell you, how much they like it, is the cream of the crop.

Since I have just recently started blogging, I hope to learn all I can from my fellow bloggers, as well as from WordPress.

Have a goodnight and happy blogging.  🙂

It’s here… 2015

Wow…  I got thru 2014, now let’s see about 2015.  When I was younger, on new years eve I would stay up until midnight.   Now I just go to bed early and when midnight strikes, I say, “YIPPE!” Then I go back to bed…lol.  I like parties, but I also like my sleep.  Maybe next year, I will go to bed early the night before, then take a nap in the day & be ready to party at midnight.  I wonder how many other people, go to bed early on new years eve.

My mom who is 68 years old, still stays up to midnight, to ring in the new year.  Even if she is home, sharing a quiet evening with her husband.  Then when midnight strikes, she grabs her pots and pans, then she starts banging away, waking up the neighborhood.  She also yells, “Happy New Year” to see if anyone will yell it back.  She lives in a country setting without many neighbors, I guess the only noise she might hear is the dogs howling back.

As for any new year resolutions, those are always really hard for me to make. I mean I make resolutions all the time, but sticking to them is another story.  I guess, the only resolution I would make, is to do my very best to eat healthy and keep an active lifestyle.  That’s probably the best resolution that I can make for myself.  I hope the new year brings happiness, as well as good health to myself.  I wish to blog as much as I can and learn the fundamentals of WordPress.

So, I hope everyone one has a fantastic new year and all their wishes for the new year comes through…

Happy New Year  everyone 🙂

Last day of 2014…

Well, today is the last day of 2014.  For some it was a happy year, for others not so happy.  I thank my friends and family for their love and support.  I thank WordPress, for letting me use their site to create my first blog.  I look forward to learning all I can from WordPress, in my hopes to be a success.

Thank you to the new followers, who decided my blog was worth following.  I hope you enjoy yourself, as you follow me, on my blog journey.  This past year was an okay one.  It wasn’t too bad.  All my family and friends are doing well, as can be expected.  This year gave me a chance to rethink my dreams and inspirations.

A time to reflect on past experiences, as well as present ones.  I hope to ride on new adventures, that are promising and fulfilling.  If things don’t work out so well, I hope I can learn from my mistakes and not be afraid to try new ones.  I hope to learn from my fellow bloggers, their passion that keeps them blogging.

So as we say goodbye to 2014, I wish everyone happiness, good health and prosperity in 2015.

I hope you all have a bright and safe New Years Eve.  Goodnight…zzzzzz

Brrr… It’s cold outside.

cold day

Today is cold and windy.  I mean its windy enough, where if someone put a string on you, you would be their kite. Trees are rocking, leaves are blowing and the chill can freeze you, in your path.  I went out to the shopping center, to buy some goodies for New Years Eve.  I noticed  many people out and about.  It reminded me of Christmas shoppers.

On a sad note, I noticed there seems to be more homeless people, outside of the shopping center. I felt sad, thinking how cold it was outside and wondering if they had a place to stay.  As I hurried into the store one man asked, if I could buy him something to eat, as he shivered.  I hurried into the store, saying to the man, “sorry not today.” I didn’t really listen to him, when I passed him.  Now that I have grabbed my cart, I instantly feel bad.  I reach into my purse to grab a dollar, then I walk back outside.

I see him still standing there, so I hand him the dollar.  I ask him, “what do you need?”  He says, he is hungry. I don’t say anything, I just walk away.  Now I feel bad again…  What is he going to buy to eat, that cost a dollar?  As I continue with my shopping, I decide I will get him a drink & burger from McDonald’s.  That will be better, than the dollar I gave to him.  After I am done with my shopping, I go to McDonald’s to put my order in.

As I am walking outside, I realize I didn’t buy him anything!  I bought food for my family, but not him!  Okay… I know, I will give him my drink and a chicken sandwich.  Wait a minute, then that leaves two jalapeño burgers, that aren’t even mine!  I don’t like them anyway, that’s why I bought a chicken sandwich for myself, in the first place.  I know… I will give him a jalapeno burger, but maybe he dosent like jalapeño’s!

By now my head is hurting… I should of bought him a $5.00 gift card, at McDonalds. I finally get outside and I can’t find him.  Then I take my cart and look for him at  the other exit.  I still don’t see him.  I get in the car  with my friend and ask him, “have you seen a slender Hispanic man?”  He looks at me and says, there are a lot of people here and probably a lot of people with that description. I say, maybe he is at Safeway next door.

So now we drive over to Safeway.  As we are driving I say, “if I see him I am going to grab that soda I just gave you and your burger.  Oh… And that ski jacket I gave you earlier, I need that too, because he looked cold.
